Aerial

Aerial Silks combines the beauty of dance with impact of height and the dimension of space.  You have seen aerial silk in all of Cirque Du Soleil acrobatic presentations.  This class is guaranteed to develop your core strength and flexibility among the many other benefits you will derive from this class.

Everyone is welcomed to participate, no prior experience is necessary.  Take 1 lesson or a series of lesson, the class will be ongoing and can be started at any time. All students are grouped by similarly skilled levels from beginners to advance.

AERIAL
Aerial Silks Introductory class - This class takes you through most aerial silk positions/poses in an aerial hammock to give you the experience necessary to put you in the air in under an hour.  This beginner class is designed to teach you the basics of moving as well as improving your overall core strength and flexibility.

You will learn from the ground up, starting with basic wraps on the floor through more advanced topics, such as spins, drops and slides as your progression training and skill level improves and your instructor deems it appropriate.

Length: 60 minutes
Pre-Qualifications: Must be 8 years old.
Apparel: Girls wear leotard with or without elastic waist shorts or unitard with gymnastics shoes
Regular training schedule September through May/June.
Adjusted schedule during summer months.

DUO AERIAL
The focus of this class is to teach students how to work with partners, while each masters basing and flying.  Beginners focus on basic hand-to-hand combinations, mounting and stacked positions. Advanced students through progression training will work on double tricks that require body strength and mental preparation to perform drops and release moves.

Working with a partner develops trust and camaraderie, which improves confidence and is fun.

*This class is intermediate-level therefore coach recommendation/evaluation is required.

AERIAL ADVANCED CLASS
This class is designed for students who have more upper body and core strength as well as body control. This class concentrates on advanced variations off the basic poses such as, spins, drops and slides.

For the student who aspires to perform professionally we provide training on how to choreograph sequences by teaching in-depth properties of wraps and holds while performing drops, spins and rolls.

Seamless movements while transitioning moves are developed and a unique expression and style will be fostered to create technically correct but artistic engaging performances.Almost all students are eligible to participate in our bi-annual student performance showcases.

AERIAL HOOP / LYRA CLASS
Hoop or lyra is a large metal hoop used in aerial performances in which the student learns beautiful movements and creates beautiful shapes while spinning on a large metal hoop that is suspended in the air.

Beginners learn the basics of spinning and the egress and de egress of the hoop. Once mastered, the student will advanced through progression training to learning body movements and other more advanced moves. Advanced students are taught performance skills and technique improvements.

AERIAL TRAPEZE CLASS
In this class you will learn to manipulate your body mass on and around the trapeze.  You will train with the trapeze at various height levels.  Positions and tricks will be taught to help start building routines on the trapeze.  This class will improve your body strength, condition and overall flexibility. Advanced students will concentrate on form, style and choreography.
