PRE-SCHOOLERS  

BALLET / RHYTHMIC

Our Pre-Schoolers Ballet/Rhythmic Gymnastics program was designed to introduce children to Ballet, Dance and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Children are learning basics of Pre-Ballet and Ballet, Dance and Rhythmic Gymnastics.

This program is focused on learning fundamental body movements and apparatus techniques using ball, ribbon, hoop, and rope. Children are practicing 1 to 4 ½ hours a week, participate in level/skill tests, and have an opportunity to perform in Miami Gymnastics Winter and Summer Shows.

More advanced gymnasts can participate in competitions. Miami Gymnastics usually hosts 1 or more local competitions per year and this is an unforgettable experience that will open the door for a little gymnast into the sport.

LADYBUGS ( 2 ½ - 3 ½ )

Our Ladybugs program for children ages 2 ½   – 3 ½  years old will give students their first look at Ballet, Dance, Rhythmic Gymnastics and physical fitness. Rhythmic is a great foundation that helps develop flexibility, coordination, rhythm of music, dance movements, strength, physical fitness and self-esteem that will help prepare children for all sports and dance programs.

Our “ladybugs” will learn basic Pre-Ballet skills, will try to put together a Dance with ribbon, ball, hoola hoop or jump rope, will learn basic Pre-Gymnastics skills, work on flexibility and at the same time have a lot of FUN. During the practices we focus on learning basic body movements and apparatus techniques of rhythmic gymnastics using ball, ribbon, hoop and rope.

Children are practicing 45 minutes, 1 to 3 times a week

*Proper Attire: Pink Leotard, Long Hair Pulled up in a “pony tail”, Rhythmic half-shoes (available in our office).

BUTTERFLIES ( 3 - 5 )

Like the Ladybugs, our Butterflies program will give students their first look at Ballet, Dance, Rhythmic Gymnastics and physical fitness, but this program is designed for a little older preschoolers: 3 – 5 year old and therefore it will take students to next level.

This program is designed for beginners and is a great foundation that helps to develop flexibility, coordination, rhythm of music, dance movements, strength, physical fitness and self-esteem that will help prepare children for all sport and dance programs.

Our “butterflies” will learn basic Ballet skills, will put together a Dance with ribbon, ball, hoola hoop or jump rope, will learn basic Gymnastics skills, work on more advanced flexibility skills and of course, as always, will have tons of FUN. During the practices we focus on learning fundamental body movements and apparatus techniques of rhythmic gymnastics using ball, ribbon, hoop and rope.

LITTLE FAIRIES – Advanced Preschoolers ( 3 - 5 )

By coach recommendation/evaluation only

The Little Fairies program will further build on the skills that were mastered in Butterflies or Ladybugs . The class places great emphasis on the proper execution of all beginner skills to help with advancements

Little Fairies was specifically designed to meet the needs and challenges of our young student who have demonstrated great body awareness, control, flexibility & strength. There are specific goals that we are focused on achieving. Children in this program have been hand selected by a member of our staff for their skills, determination & personality.

Students in the Advanced Class are highly encouraged to attend two times per week.

Classes are 60 mininutes. A minute of 2 classes per week is recommended.

*Proper Attire: Blue Leotard, Long Hair Pulled up in a “pony tail”, Rhythmic half-shoes (available in our office).

RHYTHMIC PRE-TEAM   (4 - 6 ) 

By coach recommendation/evaluation only

This class is designed for the most talented young students who have ability and desire to be in a warm but challenging environment. There are very specific goals that we are focused on achieving. Gymnasts are hand selected for this program based on their attitude, work ethic, desire, gymnastics skills, strength, flexibility, determination & personality. This is a pre-competitive program and it requires parent and gymnasts commitment to a min of three classes per week, 90 min each.

The Rhythmic-Pre-Team program is designed to prepare young gymnasts for future competition by emphasizing strong basic fundamentals, strength, flexibility, coordination, discipline and respect for the sport. It is gymnast’s introduction to Pre-Competitive Program which actually takes the little gymnast to the next, more serious, level of gymnastics: gymnastics as a “sport” verses gymnastics as an “activities”.

Training will maintain a balance of seriousness and fun, and the entire experience will be extremely enjoyable for children who are passionate about the sport! Ballet training is included as an integrated component of Rhythmic Gymnastics.

As all MGDA Pre-Competitive Gymnasts, Rhythmic Pre-Team members need to participate in all Team Intensive programs and/or Team Camps/Clinics at Miami Gymnastics through the entire year.

Classes are 90 min and all students in the Rhythmic Pre-Team are required to attend three classes per week.

*Proper Attire: Black Leotard and Black “gym” Shorts, the Hair Pulled up in a Ballet Bun, Rhythmic half-shoes (available in our office).
